Qi Gong for Mind-Body Wellness
Qigong practices use movement, visualization, and intention to increase health and wellness, and are suitable for people at all levels of fitness. Qi Gong is a way of working with human consciousness, the subtle (energetic) qi body, and the physical body to increase well-being in all three. It is a gentle yet effective way of getting the body moving while calming the mind. It can be practiced alone or in groups or with a practitioner/teacher, but it always involves activating the natural healing processes that all human are endowed with.
In this class, you will learn:
- Eight Pieces of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin), a set of eight movements designed to direct Qi (vital substances and energy) throughout the body, restore balance, and reduce stress.
- Five color meditation to strengthen the five internal organs
- The basic principles of Wisdom Healing Qigong (Zhineng Medical Qigong) and the first practice for harnessing external Qi.
- Meridian-channel tapping, or using the hands to tap and activate all 12 channels.
Participants will learn how and why to perform each movement, so that they can be effectively practiced at home. A video link will be provided to help everyone develop the habit of daily practice. You can easily create your own daily, 15-45 minute routine, with options for variation based on your needs.
